Instructor Tyla


Tyla has been training at Circotica since it opened in 2016. Her background is in gymnastics and cheerleading. She began teaching for us in April 2019. She enjoys training aerials, contortion, handstands and adagio.

Instructor Teresa


Training in Circus Arts for over a decade and teaching for six years now, Teresa is a dedicated practitioner and loves to share her passion for circus performance with both kids and adults. Her favourite disciplines are trapeze, partner acro, doubles aerials and handbalancing and she teaches a broad range of circus skills to our littlest Circotica members. Writing, directing and producing circus shows is her developing obsession.

Instructor Valentina


Vale is our aerial specialist from Italy. She began her acrobatic journey in synchronised swimming & started circus in 2010, focusing on silks and rope. 
She is very passionate about “social circus” and has collaborated in different projects in remote areas around the world.

Emma has been hula hooping for 8 years and loves how it puts a smile on people's faces. As a teacher she embraces fun, and enjoys seeing how happy people are when they nail new, challenging tricks! Other than twirling hula hoops Emma is often found at the pole studio or making balloon animals.

Instructor Josh


Josh discovered circus in 2017, and with his background in classical and contemporary dance he easily marries beautiful movement both on and off the apparatus. He specializes in trapeze, is a group fitness instructor & his quirky sense-of-humour wins over everybody!

Calvin is a seasoned circus performer and instructor with over a decade of experience in the circus world! With a focus on juggling and rola-bola, Calvin has honed their skills and developed a unique approach to teaching these disciplines. Calvin's expertise and passion for circus will inspire and challenge you to reach new heights.

Instructor Kate


The big kid from Blenheim who grew up swinging around on Christchurch playgrounds. Expert aerialist Kate adores her dragon-ninja child, and has a passion for training and teaching Aerial Silks.

Instructor Freya


Freya completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre at Circomedia, Bristol, UK in 2019 and has since travelled across the world and made Canterbury, NZ her home. With 10 years worth of experience training in the circus arts and specialising in partner acrobatics, she is eager to share her knowledge and skills.

Raph fell in love with circus in 2015 and hasn't turned back. She spent 2 years in Pōneke training full-time through Whitireia and is now based in Ōtautahi. She has a huge passion for teaching, and is a huge believer in keeping circus fun and silly. She is interested in including unique and quirky movement styles in her teaching style.

Amanda has been passionately training and exploring aerial arts since 2012. She started sharing her passion with students in 2017 and is always searching for new challenges.

Sarah has over 10 years of aerial experience and has been teaching since 2015. She has recently moved back to Canterbury after years of building an aerial community in Queenstown at her studio Gravity. Sarah specialises in Silks, Lyra, and Aerial Yoga.

Joe discovered circus six years ago after a misguided attempt at pole dancing, and he has never looked back. His background is in artistic gymnastics, and his main focus is straps. Oh, and he LOVES conditioning.
